Sex with a trans person isn’t all that different than sex with a cis person. Before you get in bed with them, there are a couple of extra things you need to know. The first one is what pronouns they like to use. This is pretty basic polite behavior among trans people but you’re also going to want to ask what pet names they’re okay with being called during sex. Pet names can be pretty gendered, so you don’t want to accidentally break their mood by saying the wrong thing. Related to that is you’re going to want to figure out what they like their genitals (and other gendered body parts) to be called. This is also pretty important when it comes to using the right words in bed. Of course, as with any sexual situation you’ll want to ask what kind of action they’re comfortable with, for instance a lot of trans men aren’t comfortable with penetration.
